IDF conducts military ops in southern Lebanon
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said on Saturday that it conducted a military operation in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and personnel.

IDF destroys stockpiles of weapon
Soldiers from the Commando Brigade and the elite Yahalom Unit were involved in the mission, IDF said. It also said it located and destroyed stockpiles of weapons, observation posts, missiles, and launch sites of the Hezbollah aimed at Israeli territory.

IDF uncovers tunnels used by Hezbollah
During the operation, the IDF troops successfully destroyed multiple tunnel shafts that were allegedly used by Hezbollah militants to get close to the Israeli border area.

Hidden rocket launch sites destroyed
Additionally, the Israeli soldiers discovered and destroyed underground caches of weapons, observation posts, and sites used for launching rockets, all located in southern Lebanon.

Coordinated airstrikes
According to the IDF, the commandos also coordinated airstrikes that resulted in the deaths of numerous Hezbollah operatives. "In close cooperation with the Air Force that included the use of drones and advanced weaponry, the commando formation forces and Air Force aircraft eliminated dozens of terrorists," IDF said.

Hezbollah fighters targeted inside a mosque
The Israeli military also said its forces struck Hezbollah fighters inside a south Lebanon mosque overnight, the first such strike since clashes erupted between Israel and the militants last year.

Presumed successor to Hassan Nasrallah dead
Meanwhile, according to reports, Hashem Safieddine, the presumed successor to Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Beirut. Safieddine was killed after the IDF operation was aimed at him and other high-ranking members of the militant group gathered in an underground bunker.
