The IDF also released a video showing soldiers crossing into Southern Lebanon.

The IDF reported that the 91st Division began its operations on Sunday, focusing on precise and limited activities within southern Lebanon. This deployment follows nearly a year of military engagement in both the northern front and the Gaza Strip. Over the past two weeks, reserve brigades have been activated to enhance readiness.

"After almost a year of operational activity in the northern arena and in the Gaza Strip, over the past two weeks, reserve brigades have been called up to train and improve readiness," the statement said.

Since the beginning of the war the 91st Division has engaged in numerous offensive and defensive operations aimed at degrading Hezbollah's capabilities and infrastructure. The military claims to have carried out hundreds of strikes, resulting in the elimination of dozens of militants.

"Over the past several weeks, the division conducted hundreds of strikes and eliminated dozens of terrorists," the statement added.

The announcement comes as thousands gathered across the globe to remember the victims of the October 7 attacks. Candlelight vigils and memorials took place in cities including Tel Aviv, London, Paris, and Berlin. In Tel Aviv, family and friends of those killed at the Nova dance festival held a vigil, lighting candles and sharing memories.

In London, attendees in Hyde Park displayed Israeli flags and placards demanding the return of hostages still held by Hamas.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant casualties on both sides, with over 1,200 Israelis reported killed and more than 41,000 Palestinians lost in Gaza since the beginning of the war.
