Family of slain Indian killed at Russia's battlefield arrives in Delhi to provide DNA samples

KAITHAL: The family members of Ravi (22) a resident of Kaithal who was killed in Russia, have arrived in Delhi to provide DNA samples to help identify his body.

Ravi who had gone to Russia in search of employment through an agent on January 13, was reportedly killed at battlefront of ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine recently. His family, who had been trying to bring his body back to India, has now arrived in Delhi to provide DNA samples to facilitate the identification process.

The family is working closely with the Indian authorities to ensure that Ravi's body is repatriated to India as soon as possible. The Indian government has assured the family of all possible help and cooperation in bringing deceased's body back to India. The authorities are working closely with the Russian officials to expedite the process, said Sonu, a family member of deceased.

Ravi's mother had passed away in 2018 therefore, his father along with family members reached at a hospital in Delhi to provide a DNA sample for the match with the body of Ravi.

In this matter Haryana's Kaithal police have arrested the accused agent recently who duped him and sent him promising a job in Russia but allegedly enlisted in Russian army. Now the accused agent identified as Satyawan hails from same village as the deceased has been lodged in district jail.

Congress party leaders have been raising this issue since it came to light and attacked the ruling BJP party for not providing jobs to youths in the home state who are forced to leave the country for jobs and losing their lives there.
