Donald Trump declared ceasefire between Iran and Israel. And the two nations traded missiles soon after, accusing each other of violating it. Trump's disappointment reflected in a series of statements he issued as the two nations kept their hands on trigger.
“I'm not happy with them. I'm not happy with Iran, either, but I'm really unhappy with Israel going out this morning,” Trump said, adding, “We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don't know what the f—- they're doing.”
The fragile truce between broke down on Tuesday after Israel accused Iran of launching missiles into its airspace. Iran denied the attack, but explosions and sirens were reported across northern Israel. The two nations eventually declared that they were ready to back off with Netanyahu saying that Tel Aviv "refrained" from conducting strikes and Iran declaring an end to "12-day imposed war".

However, just 20 minutes after the declared truce, Israel reported a fresh wave of Iranian missiles, indicating the ceasefire was not holding.
The missile strikes caused significant damage in southern Israel, particularly in the city of Beersheba. Israeli emergency services confirmed that at least four people were killed in the attack. A residential building was heavily damaged, and Israeli firefighters rescued multiple people, including children, trapped under the rubble.
Iranian state television quoted the country’s military as denying any missile launches after the ceasefire deadline. Meanwhile, its Supreme National Security Council praised Iran’s armed forces and warned of a "decisive response" to any further Israeli aggression.
Israel retaliates to ceasefire violationIsrael carried out a limited strike on an Iranian radar facility in response to what it described as an Iranian missile barrage, but initially held back from broader retaliation following consultations with US President Donald Trump. However, Israeli defense minister Israel Katz later instructed the military to resume strikes, citing continued Iranian missile launches well after the ceasefire was supposed to begin.
In a significant escalation, Iranian state media reported the killing of Mohammad Reza Sedighi Saber, a high-ranking nuclear scientist sanctioned by the US, in an Israeli airstrike. Iran reported that a pre-ceasefire Israeli strike killed nine civilians.

"Israel is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly “Plane Wave” to Iran. Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect! Thank you for your attention to this matter!" he said in another post on Truth Social.

Meanwhile, hours after this, Trump declared in a post on Truth Social, "Iran will never rebuild their nuclear facilities".
Israel says 'refrained' from further strikes; Iran says 'will respect'Israeli PM Netanyahu held back from launching further attacks on Iran after a call with Trump. Netanyahu's office said that the prime minister spoke with Trump and, as a result, Israel chose not to carry out additional strikes on Iran. The statement confirmed that Israel had already targeted and destroyed a radar facility near Tehran in response to Iranian missile attacks, while Israeli media indicated that Netanyahu reduced the scope of the operation based on Trump’s response.
Incidentally, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that Iran was willing to honor the ceasefire declared by Trump, as long as Israel adhered to the agreement as well.
"If the Zionist regime does not violate the ceasefire, Iran will not violate it either," Pezeshkian said during a phone conversation with Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim, AFP reported citing a presidency website.

This came after Trump said in a post on Truth Social: "Both Israel and Iran wanted to stop the War, equally! It was my great honor to Destroy All Nuclear facilities & capability, and then, STOP THE WAR!"
