Fernando Juan Fitz-James Stuart y de Solis, 33, the 17th Duke of Huescar and his wife Sofía Palazuelo, 31, baptised Seville on October 7 and named her Sofía Fernanda Dolores Cayetana Teresa Ángela de la Cruz Micaela del Santísimo Sacramento del Perpetuo Socorro de la Santísima Trinidad y de Todos Los Santos.

She won’t be registered because of the length of the name, despite it being a tribute to other members of the family, including the late matriarch of the dynasty, the Duchess of Alba – aka Cayetana, reported Metro quoting El Pais.

She holds the family record for having the longest name -- María del Rosario Cayetana Paloma Alfonsa Victoria Eugenia Fernanda Teresa Francisca de Paula Lourdes Antonia Josefa Fausta Rita Castor Dorotea Santa Esperanza Fitz-James Stuart y de Silva Falcó y Gurtubay.

The newspaper added the civil registry requires that a child's must contain "no more than one compound name and no more than two simple ones".

According to the Guinness World Records, Cayetana held an unrivalled number of titles among noblewomen worldwide.

Her collection included five duchess titles, 18 marchioness titles, 20 countess titles, as well as viscountess, countess-duchess, and constable titles. In addition to these, she also held the esteemed position of Grande of Spain 14 times.

In total, she possessed an array of 46 titles and bore 19 distinct names, making her a true exemplar of nobility. However, this record is now held by Princess Victoria of Hohenlohe-Lagenburg, 20th Duchess of Medinaceli.

"The girl has a few more than the five simple names allowed," it added.

According to the Guinness World Records, "the longest personal name is 747 characters long, and belongs to Hubert Blaine Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff Sr. (b. 4 August 1914, Germany) who passed away on 24 October 1997, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, as verified on 1 January 2021."
