Russia has sentenced two men to lengthy prison terms for allegedly aiding Ukraine's military, as part of an ongoing crackdown on those accused of undermining Moscow’s war effort. A man in the Kirov region received a 21-year sentence for arson attacks on railway infrastructure, which the FSB claimed were carried out under Ukrainian orders. In a separate case, a 22-year-old in the Russian Far East was sentenced to 12 years for "treason" after allegedly transferring money to Ukraine for military purposes. Russia has increasingly prosecuted individuals for acts of sabotage or even small donations to Ukrainian causes since the invasion began in 2022.
