NEW DELHI: At least four people died and 21 suffered injuries after the roof of a restaurant collapsed in tourist island of Mallorca, Spain, on Thursday.
"There are four dead and around 21 injured,"emergency services spokesperson said further adding that"several nationalities" were among the victims, AFP reported.
The victims were taken to different hospitals with seven being "very serious" and nine suffering "serious" injuries, according to a post by the emergency services on X.
Assuring necessary support, Spain PM Pedro Sanchez expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased.
"I have just spoken with the president Marga Prohens and with the mayor of the city, Jaime Martinez, to whom I have conveyed the willingness of the Government of Spain to collaborate with all the means and personnel that are necessary", he said in a post on X.
"I want to send my condolences to the families of the deceased and my wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured", he added.
According to social media posts, rescuers were still working at the location to find more victims trapped beneath the rubble.
