Reproductive health is defined as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity, in all matters relating to the reproductive system and to its functions and processes. Reproductive health implies that people can have a satisfying and safe sex life and that they can reproduce, and the freedom to decide if, when, and how often to do so.
Every woman should have access to affordable and timely abortion care. This is a public health issue related to human rights. There should not be any restrictions on medical help for safe abortions. Medical termination of pregnancy is the procedure carried out by trained healthcare professionals using the methods recommended by the World Health Organization.
