Reshmi Ghosh is already in Manila. A slip disc did not stop the Femina Miss India Earth 2002 from participating in the Miss Earth pageant that is scheduled for the October 20.
The girl was in agony but her grit and determination did not stop her from going through tough training regimes.
Whether it was SABIRA MERCHANT’s diction classes or ANJALI MUKHERJEE who helped shape her body, she went through it all. Dr JAMUNA PAI took care of Reshmi’s skin while Reshmi herself concentrated on getting her back together.
Like the girl told us on her way to the airport, “I’m going with a weak back, but a strong heart.� My God, now aren’t you impressed already? But that’s Reshmi for you. Super confident. Always. The Bengali beauty made sure she had enough clothes that would last her throughout her long stay. Even minutes before she could board the aircraft her cell phone kept beeping. All wellwishers gave her their best wishes.
And right by her side was ARINDAM, her boyfriend who flew in from Kolkata to see her off. But off to the Philippines she goes all by herself. Yet she is prepared. Whether it’s her makeup and haircare that she learnt from BHARAT and DORRIS GODAMBE or the reading that she did on various subjects.
Reshmi was bubbling with enthusiasm. Her back is not going to stop her from strutting around in high heeled Regal shoes. “Once I am there, I want to concentrate all my energies on getting the crown for India,� she says. If you dare to dream, your dreams come true. Right, Reshmi?
