When popular TV show sets caught fire

Big B's shoot for TV show halted due to minor fire

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan's first day shoot for 'Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi' was disrupted on Friday after a fire broke out on the sets of the forthcoming TV show here. The 72-year-old star, who is returning on Star Plus after over 15 years, was on stage when the blaze broke out. The shoot was stopped for around 45 minutes. According to a source, softie light got overheated which caused the minor fire.

Taking control of the situation, Amitabh tried to calm the crew members. "Amitabh was onstage. He calmed everyone down. After controlling the fire, everyone present on the stage said it's supposed to be a good omen for a great show," the source said. The concept of 'Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi' is not known but its trailer gives a glimpse of a fun-filled avatar of Big B, who makes a simple ride in an elevator interesting with an impromptu jig and crazy antics.

Amitabh has turned all his attention to the show. He is personally looking into every aspect of the show -- be it creative, music and content. The show will premiere on October 18. And actress-entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty Kundra will be appearing on the first episode of the show as she tweeted: "

On the sets with srbachchan, he has an aura about him that makes every heart skip a beat, mine too." She also shared an image, in which she is posing with the cine icon in a traditional attire.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had planned to set up an enquiry into the fire that broke out on the sets of TV show Jamai Raja at Chitrath Studio. According to a report in Mid-day, this was the second instance of a TV show set being torched down in the last one month. The last fire was on the sets of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein at Killick Nixon Studio. Though there was no human casualty, property worth Rs 3 crore was apparently burned down in the fire. Dilip Pithva, general secretary, FWICE, said that they were setting up a committee to inquire the cause of fire to ascertain if it was an accident or arson. He also reasoned that since Qubool Hai was being shot next door, had the fire spread, it could've been dangerous.

Dilip further informed that the FWICE had already written to various studios across the city to improve their fire safety system or risk facing penalty. He revealed that they were planning to make surprise visits on film sets and studios to check out the safety measures.
