'Kammattam' release date announced

The makers confirmed in a social media post that the series has officially been confirmed for a September 5, 2025 release. The streaming platform also announced the news on its social media handles with the post, “Every eye, every face, and every frame has a story to tell. Kammattam, streaming on ZEE5 from September 5, 2025, in Malayalam.” (translated from Malayalam).

Plot of 'Kammattam'

The series follows Inspector Antonio George as he investigates the mysterious death of Samuel Umman. His probe soon points towards Samuel’s employee, Francis, but what begins as a straightforward case unravels into a far more sinister conspiracy. The show raises the question: can Antonio uncover the truth, or will darker forces prevail?

The Malayalam web series stars Sudev Nair in the lead role, and stars Jeo Baby, Vivya Santh, Akhil Kavalayoor, Sreerekha, Arun Sol, Jordy Poojar, Ajay Vasudev, Jins Bhaskar, and others in supporting roles. The series, directed by Shan Thulasidharan, is based on a story by Shihabudeen K with the screenplay by Sanjith RS, Sudheesh Sugunanandhan, and Jose Thomas Polackal.

'Kammattam' is produced by Arjun Ravindran. The background score is composed by 4 Musics, with Prakash Velayudhan handling cinematography and Ratheesh Mohanan in charge of editing. The series completed filming its six episodes in just 11 days, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sudev’s upcoming project

Sudev Nair will next be seen in a supporting role in the Kannada-English bilingual film 'Toxic', starring Yash. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the movie features a star-studded cast including Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, and others. Anirudh Ravichander is expected to compose the music, while Rukmini Vasanth from 'Kantara Chapter 1' is also part of the cast. The film is set to release on March 19, 2026.
