Yoon Ji On, who is known for his work in ‘Dream’, ‘My Lovely Liar’, and ‘Tomorrow’, has recently come under fire for a recent drunk driving case. Since the actor has been facing a lot of backlash over the incident, another shocking news has come to light. Yoon Ji On leaves upcoming drama following backlash
Earlier this month, the actor’s drunk driving case came to light, following which he ended up facing a lot of backlash and criticism from the public. He had also shared a statement on his social media as well, formally apologizing for the incident and for causing a lot of trouble to the public.
As per reports by News1, the actor has now officially pulled out of his next drama titled ‘Positively Yours’. The actor had been filming for the drama since July, which is slated for release next year; however, on September 16, he officially pulled out of the drama, following the DUI case. This has left the production team in a jam, as the filming had already begun, and this move means that they would have to find a completely different main lead for the show.
Not only that, but fans have been speculating that a lot more is going on, as his management agency has also unfollowed him on all social media platforms.
Yoon Ji On’s official apology statement
The actor shared a statement of apology on his social media account following the backlash. He stated, “I feel heavy-hearted and apologise for having to share such unfortunate news. On September 16, I was so intoxicated that I could not remember my actions and committed the wrongdoing of unauthorizedly riding a motorcycle parked on the road. I have since admitted to all charges and am currently assessing the damage”.
He also added that “I will live with vigilance and regret for the rest of my life to ensure this never happens again. I will cooperate sincerely with the upcoming investigation and accept any penalties imposed. There is no room for any excuse. I bow my head once again to apologise. I am sorry”.
