Upcoming drama “Check in Hanyang” unveils new poster featuring Kim Eui Sung

The much-awaited historical romance drama 'Check in Hanyang' has released a striking new poster featuring Kim Eui Sung, giving a glimpse into its unique narrative.

Set in the Joseon Dynasty, 'Check in Hanyang' is a story of young "interns" who navigate life, love, and ambition at Yongcheonru, the biggest and most luxurious inn in Joseon. Unlike other historical dramas, 'Check in Hanyang' revolves around the interesting dynamics of this high-end guesthouse, where money is the ultimate power that supersedes the strict social hierarchy of the time.

Yongcheonru runs under the belief that "the customer is king," which makes it a place where the rich are more powerful than the ruler. The inn, even richer than the palace, belongs to the financial mogul Cheon Bang Ju (Kim Eui Sung).

Cheon Bang Ju's enormous fortunes have the upper hand over the prince family, and he straight up challenges Prince Lee Eun (Bae In Hyuk), who wants this control back. Hong Deok Soo (Kim Ji Eun) comes to Yongcheonru to solve this mystery surrounding her father's death. Son of Cheon Bang Ju, Cheon Jun Hwa is stuck in the war of succession. On the other side, Go Soo Ra starts his new journey as a servant at Yongcheonru to seek a fresh beginning with his family's restoration to wealth.

In the new poster, Cheon Bang Ju sits serenely on a cushion with his brush or pen writing entries in an account book. The confidence and sharpness in his glance depict his superiority. His exorbitant background decorated by folding screens like that used during royal times and motifs of the golden dragon reflects the sumptuousness and wealth.

This caption on the poster, "A world ruled by wealth, not status, will come," embodies the bold philosophy and ambition of Cheon Bang Ju in setting the stage for intense power struggles where money is the ultimate weapon.
