Lee Jung-jae returns as Player 456 in the gripping trailer for Squid Game Season 2, determined to dismantle the deadly games. He re-enters the arena to save lives, facing new challenges and fierce battles alongside returning and new players. The high-stakes competition premieres December 26.

The trailer we have all been waiting for is here! Netflix on Wednesday, released an intense new trailer for Season 2 of the global phenomenon 'Squid Game'. While this one does not offer closer looks at the deadly games, it does put Lee Jung-Jae's character of Player 456 front and centre as it reveals his motivation to return to Squid Game for a second round.
In the new chapter, Player 456, the sole survivor of the first competition, re-enters the brutal arena, determined to dismantle the sinister game and save lives. The trailer sees him trying to guide the other 455 contestants through the games, however, there are others determined to win the money irrespective of the cost.

The trailer also teases fierce battles between players and guards, as well as new life-threatening challenges designed to push the participants to their limits.
Returning alongside Lee are Wi Ha-jun as Hwang Jun-ho, the determined detective, and Lee Byung-hun as the enigmatic Front Man. Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk continues his role as director and executive producer, with Kim Ji-yeon also serving as an EP.
The official synopsis reads, 'Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.'


In addition to Lee Jung-jae, other returning cast members include Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo. New to the cast are Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an.
'Squid Game', which debuted in 2021, quickly became a cultural phenomenon, earning the title of Netflix’s most-watched show with over 2.2 billion hours viewed, equivalent to approximately 265 million views. The first season earned widespread critical acclaim, receiving 17 Emmy nominations and winning six, including Best Actor in a Drama for Lee Jung-jae and Best Guest Actress in a Drama for Lee You-mi.

The highly anticipated second season of the Korean thriller is set to premiere on December 26.
