Actor Oh Young-soo, who won a Golden Globe award for his performance in 'Squid Game', has been found guilty in the indecent assault case. According to New York Times, the verdict was issued by a district court judge in Seongnam, located southeast of Seoul, wherein Mr. Oh was found guilty of inappropriately hugging an actress, as well as holding her hand and kissing her cheek in 2017. He was given an eight=month prison sentence and suspended for two years.

The victim in this case has filed the case in December 2021, soon after Oh Young-soo won earned international acclaim for his performance in 2021 series 'Squid Game'. While exiting the court, Oh stated that he plans to appeal the case, reports Korea Herald.

Previously, Oh Young-soo had reportedly denied the allegations and commented via JTBC, “I just held her hand to guide the way around the lake. I apologized because [the person] said she wouldn’t make a fuss about it but it doesn’t mean that I admit the charges.”

Apart from winning a Golden Globe, Oh Young-soo was also nominated for a 2022 Emmy for 'Squid Game'. In the series, Oh Il-nam competes among hundreds of contestants in a lethal game where only the victor survives, securing a life-altering prize. Throughout the competition, he conceals crucial aspects of his identity, unveiling them only at the game's climax, that he is the main antagonist of the series.
