New stills from historical romance drama, ‘My Dearest' have been unveiled, hinting at a significant shift in the dynamics of its characters.
The series, set in the Joseon dynasty, follows the love story between Lee Jang Hyun (Namgoong Min), a man who adamantly rejects marriage, and Yoo Gil Chae (Ahn Eun Jin), a woman who continues to seek love despite two failed marriages.
Spoilers Ahead!In the previous episodes, Ryang Eum (Kim Yoon Woo) chose not to reveal whether Lee Jang Hyun was still alive and falsely claimed that he had another lover. This revelation led Yoo Gil Chae to decide to release her affections for Lee Jang Hyun. Learning about this decision, Lee Jang Hyun couldn't contain his anger, leading to harsh words exchanged between him and Ryang Eum. Subsequently, Lee Jang Hyun resided in Simyang, while Ryang Eum remained in Hanyang.
However, episode 13 brings a twist as Ryang Eum embarks on a journey to find Lee Jang Hyun and convey news about Yoo Gil Chae. This ultimately sets the stage for Lee Jang Hyun's attempt to rescue Yoo Gil Chae, with the assistance of Ryang Eum.
The newly released stills depict Lee Jang Hyun and Ryang Eum in a late-night encounter, shrouded in a markedly different atmosphere. While Lee Jang Hyun had previously regarded Ryang Eum with warmth and affection, his gaze now appears cold. Simultaneously, Ryang Eum's gaze conveys an unwavering determination, raising questions about the reasons behind their altered attitudes towards each other.
Giving an insight about the narrative, the production team stated, “Our drama is a story about what people are willing to do for love. Similar to how Lee Jang Hyun will put his life on the line for Yoo Gil Chae, Ryang Eum can also put everything on the line if it is for Lee Jang Hyun. However, it is even more unfortunate because unlike Lee Jang Hyun, Ryang Eum cannot express his feelings."
Namgoong Min and Kim Yoon Woo's performances are expected to evolve dramatically in the upcoming episodes. The next episode of "My Dearest" is scheduled to air on October 27 at 9:50 p.m. KST, promising more captivating developments in the story.
