’s ‘On The
Verge
Of Insanity’ made a mark with its opening episode and joined the rating race. According to Nielsen Korea, the premiere episode has received an average nationwide rating of 3.0 and 3.9
percent
, bagging the highest ratings of Wednesday night on June 23. So, far it is the only miniseries to score the highest this year.
‘On The Verge Of Insanity’ faced tough competition with tvN’s ‘Roommate Is a Gumiho' which recorded 3.37 per cent, a sharp drop from 4.24 percent ratings from the
previous episode
. Meanwhile, JTBC’s ‘Monthly Magazine Home’ received 2.43 percent, a negligible rise from their previous one’s 2.28 percent.
Talking about ‘On The Verge Of Insanity’, the relatable comedy-drama focuses on office workers who are trying to make it in the corporate jungle. It stars Jung Jae Young,
Moon
So Ri, Lee Sang Yeob, and Kim Ga Eun as employees of Hanmyung Electronics who must fight to survive in the organization during its restructuring period.
Apart from the lead characters, Ahn Nae Sang, Park Won Sang, Kim Nam Hee, Kim Jung Ki, Jo Bok Rae, and Cha Cheong Hwa will also be seen in pivotal roles.
Earlier, Lee Sang Yeob who is essaying the role of a cunning employee Han Se Kwon, had shared that the entertaining script was one of the biggest reasons why he signed up for the miniseries and said “I think this will be a drama that portrays its characters’ feelings within various situations more realistically than other dramas. I’m trying to figure out how to express those emotions in a real way. I hope my efforts will be fully conveyed on screen.”
“I didn’t want to portray the character of Han Se Kwon as someone who was entirely bad and sly. In a way, I think Han Se Kwon is the most realistic character in the drama. He’s a pitiful character who spends every day of his life nervously evading situations by using his wits and lying” he added.
