'Kpop Demon Hunters' stars Arden Cho, May Hong and more share the fan moments that stayed with them the longest

‘Kpop Demon Hunters’ has been creating buzz ever since its release last year. As the animated film fared well this award season, the second film’s buzz has already wreaked havoc amongst fans. As the cast prepares for the second film, they all got together and looked back at some of their favourite fan moments of all time.

Arden Cho, who voices Rumi, shared her favourite fan interaction that she has had in recent months while talking to Tudum. She cited that she often has the most fun with kids. “When little kids run up and hug my legs like we’re already best friends, or when they get so excited they happy-cry when we meet. Seeing that kind of pure joy and connection reminds me why these stories matter so much and make everything we do so much more meaningful,” she quipped.

Audrey Nuna, known for her powerhouse vocals and who went viral for the song ‘Golden,’ also talked about how interacting with children who were fans of the animated film was one of the best experiences for her. She specifically mentioned the kids who came to the Brit Awards with their families and how meeting all of them was a “beautiful and wholesome experience” for her.

From the trio, EJAE also weighed in on the matter. While talking about her favorite fan interaction, she admitted, “When a fan said that 'Golden' helped get them through grieving.” The singer voices Rumi in all of the songs from ‘Kpop Demon Hunters.’

Actress Ji-young Yoo, who voices Zoey in the hit film, shared that she was unable to interact with fans as much as she wanted to. She expressed sadness about the matter, then added that “I was so busy last year, I really didn’t get to meet many fans. I’m hoping to change that this year. Ask me again at the end of 2026!” During the interview she further talked about some of her top K-Dramas, listing out her “eternal favourites”, including ‘Twenty Five Twenty One’, ‘Hospital Playlist’, Prison Playbook,’ and ‘Reply 1998.’

The masterminds behind ‘Kpop Demon Hunters’ also weighed in on the matter and shared their favourite moments spent with fans of the hit film. While Kang admitted that all of the times she has met her fans have been her favourite. Applehans, however, added that he had a specific interaction in mind that has become his utter favorite. He mentioned, “The kids in the Philippines who re-created the first alleyway scene shot-for-shot.”

Famed actress May Hong, who voiced Mira in the film, had her very own fan experience that stayed with her throughout the process. While talking about the topic she shared, “When kids are a bit too young and confused about the concept of me being the voice of Mira, I break out a line. It’s the best feeling ever to witness the moment that it registers for them, which is often followed by a huge smile or laugh.”

REI Ami, who sang all of Zoey’s parts in the songs from ‘Kpop Demon Hunters,’ also shared her favourite moment, revealing that every time she has met a fan is “precious” for her and that she loves all of them equally, without detailing the matter. While talking about her likes and dislikes, the actress admitted that she has started watching the ‘Knives Out’ mystery series.
