Kim Soo Hyun last year had made headlines after a case was filed against him regarding the passing of the late actress Kim Sae Ron. Now, while there are no recent updates about the case, reports suggest that the controversial actor may be returning to the small screen. If so, this will be Soo Hyun's first drama since a case was filed against him.
Kim Soo Hyun's new drama
As per the latest news, attorney Kho Sang Rock, who represents Kim Soo Hyun in court, took to his online social media handle and addressed rumours of the actor's possible return to the small screen. Earlier, Kim Soo Hyun had been readily cast for ‘Knock Off’, an upcoming Korean drama. However, after the case came to light, he was dropped from a lot of projects, which included brand deals as well as this drama.
On February 28, he shared that the rumours are “highly likely to be true.” He further added in his post that “According to the broadcasting and financial sectors, Disney+ is reportedly reorganising its key content lineup for the first half of 2026 and coordinating the scheduling of 'Knock-Off.' An article to that effect was published today.”
He also concluded his statement by sharing that Kim Soo Hyun is not guilty. He added, “There is not a single photograph that substantiates claims of Kim Soo Hyun being in a relationship with Kim Sae Ron during her minor years, and the truth will be confirmed through the results of the investigation.”
About ‘Knock Off’ and Kim Soo Hyun’s controversy
A year ago, actress Kim Sae Ron was found dead in her home. The actress’ passing was ruled a suicide. While the matter went on, her family alleged that she and Kim Soo Hyun had been dating since she was a minor. They also filed a case against Kim Soo Hyun, after which he countersued as well.
After the news broke out, ‘Knock Off’ was put on an indefinite hold by the production house behind it. Originally, the ‘Its Okay To Not Be Okay’ actor was set to star in the series alongside actress Jo Bo Ah.
