Joo Won stars as Cheol Woong, the young rookie firefighter who faces all the heavy-duty jobs while trying to manage essential equipment during high-stakes situations. After the unfortunate death of his best friend, Yong Tae (Kim Min Jae), from fire, Cheol Woong felt guilty but yet became strong with the help of his colleagues. He learned over time how to drive himself into such pressures and proved himself a capable and dedicated firefighter.

New stills tell the story of Cheol Woong transforming from a fearful freshman into a confident hero evoking his vulnerability, grit, and determination. On being asked about his experience in preparing himself for this role, Joo Won said, "As a kid, I thought firefighters were just cool. I remember getting excited seeing fire trucks. I had forgotten about that as an adult, but after reading the script, even the sound of a passing siren makes me reflect on firefighters’ dedication and hard work."

'Firefighters' hits theatres on 4 December.
