Ahn Ho Seop spills details about possible ‘Kpop Demon Hunter 2’; addresses character Jinu's return

‘Kpop Demon Hunters’ has managed to become one of the most successful animated movies to release on an OTT platform. After the film’s release, fans took to social media platforms to share their opinions about the film. One popular topic for debate was whether Ahn Hyo Seop’s character Jinu would make a return or not. Well, the actor himself has finally shared his thoughts on the matter!Ahn Hyo Seop talks about whether Jinu will return or notJinu has managed to become a fan favorite amongst the masses. While he was first tasked with sabotaging HUNTRIX and ensuring that the ‘honmoon’ is weak, he later became popular due to his actions in the ending scene. Now, in an interview with US Today, Ahn Hyo Seop, the voice behind the beloved character, is opening up about the film.In his recent interview, he shared that, considering the story and its ending, there is a low possibility of his return. His hope, however, is not fully diminished yet, though, as he continued, “I mean, Jinu gave his soul, so, like, I never really imagined how he would come back. As someone who loves Jinu as a fan, too, of course, I would love to see him come back. But it’s not up to me”.Sharing his opinion on the matter, he continued by saying that he hopes the film will continue to be an inspiration for people, helping them accept themselves, flaws and all. Hyo Seop is not the only actor from the film who has expressed that Jinu should come back. Arden Cho, the voice behind HUNTRIX’s main lead Rumi, also shared in an interview with Variety about how she would love for Jinu to make a comeback in the future as well.While 'K-Pop Demon Hunters 2' has not yet been officially announced, industry insiders suggest that discussions are already underway. According to a report by Puck, directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans are in talks to return for the sequel.Speculation is also growing around its release strategy. Although the first instalment had a digital release, the sequel is not contractually tied to the streaming platform. Given the success and popularity of the original film, Sony Pictures could opt for a theatrical release to maximise box office returns, rather than limiting the film to digital distribution.
