Actress Go Ah Sung's mother passes away; funeral to take place on Friday

After a prolonged illness, actress Go Ah Sung’s mother passed away on July 6. Speaking about the development, a source close to the actress said, “Go Ah Sung is extremely saddened by the unexpected passing of her mother.” Her funeral will take place in Bundang, Gyeonggi province, at a hospital on July 9, at 7 am KST. Her final resting place will be at Seoul Memorial Park.
Go Ah-sung began her acting career as a child actress, in films such as ‘The Host' (2006), which was the highest-grossing film of the year.Following that, she appeared in prominent parts in films such as ‘Snowpiercer' (2013), ‘Thread of Lies' (2014), and ‘Office’ (2015), as well as TV dramas such as ‘Master of Study' (2010) and ‘Heard It Through the Grapevine' (2015).
In 2017, Go featured in the MBC drama ‘Radiant Office’ as a twenty-something woman who, following a suicide attempt and a possible terminal illness diagnosis, believes she has nothing to lose and approaches her profession and life with a fresh new perspective. She was cast as the team’s sole female detective in the South Korean adaptation of the UK series ‘Life on Mars’ in 2018. She made a comeback to the big screen in 2019 with the historical drama ‘A Resistance.’
Go enjoys going on solo trips and capturing photographs. Bae Doona, a friend, and regular co-star encouraged her to take up photography. In 2010, Go’s images were displayed alongside artwork by Ha Jung-woo and photography by Uhm Tae-woong at the 5th annual Seoul Open Art Fair. Music is another one of her passions. She appeared live on stage at Mudaeruk in Hongdae, where she did her own singing for the film 'Duet'.
She is presently a student at Sungkyunkwan University, majoring in psychology.
