When ETimes caught up with the effervescent jodi of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor ahead of the trailer launch of their upcoming film, we expected nothing less than a Bawaal conversation. And that is exactly what transpired in our exclusive segment of 'How well do you know your co-star?'
A lot of beans were spilled when the two young stars were posed with some personal questions and both Varun and Janhvi were a sport while director Nitesh Tiwari turned referee. Watch the conversation that transpired and get ready for some Bawaal!
Janhvi, what is Varun's go to pose while clicking a selfie?Janhvi: He does this thing with his eyes. Smoldering one...
Varun, would you rather do the Rock’s eyebrow pose? Varun: I would, but now it's too much of him. So I do a smolder, like a slight smolder.
And what does Janhvi do? Varun: She clenches her jaw.
Janhvi: Not when I pose, Varun!
Varun: Not when she poses, but that's a distinct giveaway of her disdain.
Janhvi: Yeah, when I get angry.
Varun: She's just like, I don't know, like she wants to kill me. You know, there are villains like that...
Janhvi: Yeah, I do that.
What is Varun's funniest trait? Janhvi: Varun's funniest trait is that he asks very quizzical, very peculiar questions. And then when someone gives the answer, he'll always say, "
Haan, yehi socha tha! Exactly sir, correct, correct!" As if like he knew the answer.
Nitesh sir, didn't he do this a lot on set?
Nitesh: Let Varun answer. Is she right or not?
Varun: I don't think she's right.
She's right, she's right.
Janhvi: And what is my funniest trait on set?
Varun: See, she's a very serious actor in that sense. She's not trying to be funny at least.
(To Janhvi) I don't think you have a funny trait on set.
But yeah, her diet was pretty funny. I found her diet very funny. Throughout this full shoot schedule, her diet was a topic of discussion for everyone because everyone was trying to understand that she's saying about diet, but she kept eating ice cream and chocolate and cakes. That was the funny bit about her.
Is he being mean to you, Janhvi? No, no. And then we had some dinner where I gave some weird logic also.
What's the first thing Varun would do if he won a lottery? Janhvi: I feel like a lot of it he would like give to charities. He's very generous like that. And then the rest of it, he'd pamper his dog Joey. Like he'd find ways to pamper him. He'd build him a dog castle or something.
Varun, agree? Varun: Yeah.
And what would Jhanvi do if she won the lottery? Varun: I think if she won a lottery, she would give maybe 70% of it to Khushi. And then the rest she would give where the work is needed to be done. But she would give Khushi a lot of it. I think that's what she's going to do with her wealth also. A lot of it is going to go to Khushi.
Jhanvi, do you know when is Varun's birthday? Janhvi: April 24th.
Which year? Janhvi: I can't. (Guesses) 1862.
I didn't expect him to know. I remembered his because I just knew that it was 24 because it adds up to 6. And it's the same birthday as Sachin Tendulkar.
Nitesh: Not the same year though, but yeah.
Well, he was born in 87, if I'm not wrong. Varun, do you know which is Jhanvi's favourite cartoon character? Varun: Powerpuff Girls?
Janhvi: No.
Varun: It's like an animal?
Janhvi: It's a human. I'll give you a hint. But there's also like a real life rendition of the same show. And there have been movies.
Varun: Little Mermaid?
Janhvi: No. Not a cartoon. There have been movies like... Mr Bean.
Varun: Mr. Bean is not a cartoon.
Janhvi: Of course there was a cartoon.
Varun: No, but it didn't start with a cartoon. It started with a sitcom. So this is wrong.
Janhvi: Fine, I'll change my answer. Tom and Jerry.
Varun: I think you just made this up right now.
Janhvi: Yeah, I did.
Varun: She doesn't like cartoons.
