The Ba***ds of Bollywood actor Neville Bharucha: Aryan Khan is not just SRK’s son, he is a remarkably professional, meticulous and patient filmmaker
, best known for his background in improv and comedy, makes his acting debut with The Ba***ds of Bollywood, Aryan Khan’s directorial venture. Playing DJ Adam, a music composer paired with Manoj Pahwa’s Avtar Singh, Neville credits his improv roots for adding authenticity and spontaneity to his performance. Explaining how improv influences his craft, he said, “Improv really helps you be present and in the moment. Just adding a few things beyond the words you’re saying contributes to the performance. Improv honestly makes me a better actor. It helps me listen and react better to the dialogue, putting myself in the character’s shoes. That made DJ Adam a much clearer character for me.”
‘Aryan’s energy and warmth make you want to give your best’
Talking about his experience working with Aryan Khan, Neville shared, “It was honestly a treat, and I was excited to come to set every day. He would always come meet you, greet you so warmly, and with so much excitement. He treats everyone so well. He is the warmest, most fun, most excited guy I have ever met, always keen on hearing what you have to say and so dedicated to his craft.”
Neville was quick to point out that Aryan’s professionalism stands far apart from the celebrity tag that precedes him. “Aryan is not just Shah Rukh Khan’s son, he is a filmmaker in his own right. He is a thorough professional, meticulous, collaborative, and incredibly patient. He took every single shot I was in and was always great with feedback, superb at explaining his vision, and open to hearing your interpretation. The excitement he had in his eyes while narrating the opening scene assured me that I was in good hands. I don’t think I have enough good things to say about him that will do justice to his skill as a director.”
‘Manoj Pahwa was an absolute delight to work with’
Recalling his time on set, Neville said the ensemble was “a powerhouse of talent wrapped in warmth and humour.” He added, “I wish I had more scenes with everyone. They were all delightful, warm, hilarious, and incredibly generous as co-actors.”
Speaking about his co-star, he shared, “I definitely had the fortune of doing a major chunk of my scenes with Manoj sir, and he was an absolute delight to work with. The chemistry we had was incredible, and working with him every day was such a pleasure. He is so funny, and anything he does or says, he gives it 100 percent. His performance in the entire show is outstanding. I feel so fortunate to have performed with him, and I am really happy that the audience can see the same chemistry I felt while we were performing.”
