Sharing about the subject of the film he says,"'Maternity Blues' is a tale of motherhood, the epitome of compassion, stands at a strange crossroad for a surrogate mother, the film portrays the dilemma and turmoil of a woman lending her womb for her daughter's future."
Further, speaking about his character he reveals, "I'm playing the husband of a surrogate mother who is a watchman in a small building. He is a person who is fed up with his own situation of poverty and is surrounded by negativity as he feels unprivileged comparing himself with the upper-class people in the society."
The ‘Dear Comrade’ star also spilled tea on what prompted him to take up this project. He said, "In my earlier days, I did a film with Prakash Jha, his chief associate Ritam Srivastava who later became an independent filmmaker approached me with this subject. I took it up because I liked the subject and I'm always looking for a challenging role. This is my 6th short film and it was a good experience working with the team. Short films create a good impact in less time and such subjects are specially made for short mediums which strikes the right chord in the heart."
Last but not least, sharing about the challenges of conveying stories in short mediums he says, "That’s the fun part of making a short that a filmmaker has a limited time to convey his story. So If my audience has a limited time to catch up on a story then he can watch a short film and experience a journey in a particular time.”
“However, to tell a story in limited time is always a challenge but that’s the fun part which gives you the kick," concluded Raj Arjun.
