Popular series returns next month with its highly anticipated third season, and
Rasika Dugal steps back into the shoes of one of its most prominent characters — Neeti Singh. Known for her restrained yet powerful portrayal of the upright cop, Rasika brings new depth to Neeti this season. The , celebrated for its gripping narratives and moral complexity, now presents a fresh case that tests Neeti both as an officer and as a woman navigating an unforgiving system.
Sharing her excitement, Rasika said, “I’m thrilled to be back as Neeti Singh in Delhi Crime Season 3. This season brings a new case and a chance to explore her journey as an officer who is now a part of the system and as a woman finding her own ground. I am looking forward to the audience experiencing the show with us again.”
While Rasika is often praised for portraying complex characters effortlessly, she does not believe only serious roles are complex. In a previous conversation, she had shared, “I don’t believe that only the serious roles are complex and light-hearted ones aren’t. Complexity is not the function of the story’s tonality, but of how well the script is written. Good scripts, whether intense or light-hearted in their manner of storytelling, have a complexity that is delicious for every performer. I would love to experiment more with comedy. Not many central roles are written for women in comedy, but I hope that changes soon.”
She added, “Most performers seek variety in their work and I would love to be in a rom-com as it’s my favourite genre. I have always enjoyed that and the song-and-dance routine that is so quintessential to our films. It’s a trademark of our cinema and I celebrate it. In fact, I was part of a choreographed song in my film, Lootcase (2020). I got a taste of it even though it was not an out-and-out song-and-dance number. I enjoyed it thoroughly and would be thrilled to have more.”
