'Panchayat': Here's all you need to know about the hit Jitendra Kumar starrer series and its seasons! ​


Deepak Kumar Mishra's popular web series 'Panchayat' starring Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, and Neena Gupta has captivated audiences with its unique blend of humour and drama. Following the tremendous success of its first two seasons, the much-awaited season 3 has The makers are yet to confirm the official date, however, reports suggested that it was to begin streaming from January 26 onwards.

​Season 1​



Deepak Kumar Mishra's 'Panchayat' Season 1 revolves around Abhishek Tripathi (played by Jitendra Kumar), who is an engineering graduate who joins as a Panchayat secretary in a remote fictional village of Phulera of Uttar Pradesh due to lack of better job options. The series of 8 episodes was shot in a real panchayat office located in village Mahodiya of district Sehore Madhya Pradesh. The series received mostly positive responses from critics, with the performances of the lead actors.

​Season 2​


Panchayat Season 2 picks up from where it was left in the first season. The second season is perfect to fill the hole left by the slice-of-life show with its quirky blend of characters and relatable story angles. Jitendra Kumar (Abhishek) gives a memorable performance as the reluctant secretary of the village Panchayat, while the supporting cast shines in their respective roles.

Filmmaker Sameer Saxena, the mastermind behind the casting, chose Jitendra Kumar based on his striking similarities to the protagonist. In an interview, Jitendra shared his enthusiasm for the Panchayat script. He stated that Panchayat is a great concept through which they could follow several characters, involve the entire village, and show a myriad of stories. They then started to think about how they could make it quirky. The show's writer came up with the idea of putting a young urban man at the heart of it. He reluctantly has to go to the village as the panchayat secretary—a job he doesn't want. The actor found the whole thing very interesting—the story, the character, and everything else around it.

​Season 3​

Panchayat Season 3' has become one of the most eagerly awaited web series of 2024, featuring Jitendra reprising his beloved role as Abhishek Tripathi. The recently released trailer and teaser have already created a buzz and viewers are eagerly counting down the days. The makers are yet to confirm the official date. Like the previous two seasons, this one too is expected to stream on the OTT platform. Alongside Gupta, actors Raghubir Yadav, Chandan Roy, Sanvikaa, and Faisal Malik will play pivotal roles in the series.
