’ has run into trouble again. While the new season of the show on Amazon had been receiving generally positive reviews on social media, there’s been a new development of political backlash against the show, from Tamil Nadu. Naam Tamilar Katchi, the Nationalist party in Tamil Nadu and its leader Seeman has reiterated the demand to ban the show, alleging the depiction of Thamizhs as vulgar. In a letter written to Amazon, he said, “The valorous Thamizh Eezham freedom struggle has been portrayed cheaply and intended to tarnish the image.” He also alleges that the show has been made to sound like the voice of the Sinhala government.
