Hansal Mehta took to Twitter to reveal the upcoming scam series, 'Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga', with a teaser video. He tweeted, "Sc3m is back! Coming soon on @SonyLIV #Scam2010OnSonyLIV @applausesocial @SonyLIVIntl."
Scam 2010 unveils the rags-to-riches tale of businessman Subrata Roy. During the early 2000s, Roy, once considered glamorous, faced allegations from chit-fund fraud to fake investors, culminating in his arrest in 2014. Even today, around 25,000 crore rupees remain unclaimed with government authorities, reflecting the ongoing impact of the scam.
Hansal Mehta talked about the new series and said, "Scam is not just a franchise for me. It is a chronicling of our times. I’m thrilled to collaborate again with Applause and Sony LIV to bring this larger-than-life story alive."
Following the triumph of Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story and Scam 2003: The Telgi Story, the latest installment will explore one of India’s most infamous financial scandals - Scam 2010 - The Subrata Roy Saga. Adapted from the book Sahara: The Untold Story by Tamal Bandyopadhyay, the series will be Produced by Applause Entertainment, in collaboration with Studio Next, and directed by Hansal Mehta.
