Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming film, ‘The Archies’ is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films in Bollywood. The movie, based around The Archies comics stars Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, Santana Roach, Yuvraj Menda, Khushi Kapoor and Aditi Dot in key roles.

Recently, British-Asian actor Alyy Khan, who has a supporting role in the movie opened up on his experience of working on the ensemble flick, while revealing some unknown facts about the movie.

The actor appeared on Nadir Ali’s podcast and said that the movie's director Zoya Akhtar, who also happens to be a friend of Alyy's put the entire cast and crew on a one year workshop before they actually faced the camera. During that time, there was no pressure, no press, no publicity and no cameras, added Alyy. Only the choreographer and dialogue coach were there and the actors rehearsed without all frills, makeup and elaborate costumes. Alyy went on to add that after this rigorous exercise, the crew was absolutely ready to face the camera.


Directed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies is co-written by Reema Kagti and Ayesha Devitre. Set in the 1960s, the movie is said to be a riot of music and drama. The film is expected to release on Netflix, sometime this year.
