Gulshan Nain: I am open to all mediums; I take up a project that satisfies me as an actor

Gulshan Nain is enjoying his time shooting for MX Player’s

. The reason? The shoot is giving him a chance to go down memory lane. Gulshan shares, “It didn’t take me even a second to decide that I wanted to be a part of the series after the script was narrated to me. I gave the audition and was glad that things fell into place. I loved my character and the story. I had been wanting to do something like this since my last project (

Virgin Woman Diaries

). Another reason I wanted to be a part of this series was that it was for MX Player. This is my second show with them and it’s one of the best

platforms that’s giving the audience a variety of shows with an array of different stories.”

Talking about his character, he says, “My character is of a very powerful and influential guy in the college. What’s even more interesting is that my character is also named Gulshan. So, I strongly believe that I was destined to play this part (laughs!)

Honestly

, I didn’t have to prepare much for the show, as I led a similar life in college. So, just remembering my old days and situations did the trick for me. I relate to most scenes while shooting. I was keen on doing this show because the character is different from the ones I have played in the past. I have always played positive characters, always been a good boy. So, this is a shade that I shall be playing for the first time and the audience also shall get to see a different me.”

He adds, “The vibe one gets on the set is very positive. It actually feels like I have gone back to my college days. I share a good rapport with everyone, not just my co-actors, but also the director and the writer who also are the producers and the crew. It's a fun shoot and there is no kind of pressure or stress. When you are working with such a talented team, be it writer, director, or the actors, the entire shoot process becomes a great learning experience that motivates you also to perform better.”

About his experience of shooting for the OTT medium, Gulshan shares, “Honestly, I love doing web series, as they are finite, crisp and give you scope to explore and experiment. Having said that, I am open to all mediums, because for me the script, story, and my character are essential, and not the medium. So, I don’t have a plan that I follow. I take up a project that satisfies me as an actor.”
