Fans of Virgin River have a lot to look forward to, as updates about Season 7 and possible spin-offs have been revealed. The production team announced that filming for the seventh season would start on March 12, 2025, in Vancouver, Canada. The filming is expected to wrap up by June 26, 2025. The decision to delay filming until spring was made to avoid the challenges of harsh winter weather. Actor Tim Matheson, who plays Doc Mullins, confirmed the timeline in a November 2024 interview.

Although Netflix has not set an official release date for Season 7, sources suggest that early 2026 is the most likely time frame. However, if post-production moves quickly, fans might get to see the new season by late 2025.

The show’s popularity has also sparked discussions about expanding the Virgin River universe. A prequel spin-off series is already in development, and two mobile games based on the show are currently available. Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith hinted at more spin-offs, emphasizing the richness of the original material, which comes from Robyn Carr’s novels. He expressed excitement about the opportunity to explore new stories and characters within the same universe.

As for the possibility of Season 8, discussions are still in the early stages. Actor Benjamin Hollingsworth, who plays Dan Brady, mentioned that ideas for another season have been floated, but Netflix has yet to confirm if the series will continue beyond Season 7.

With filming plans in place, potential spin-offs in development, and a chance for more seasons, Virgin River fans can expect plenty of new content and surprises in the coming years.
