'The Lincoln Lawyer' Season 3: Mickey Haller's return, early reactions, plot details, and future of the legal drama

Mickey Haller is back!

Fans of Netflix's 'The Lincoln Lawyer' have the perfect weekend binge with the release of the much-anticipated third season of the legal drama, premiering Thursday, October 17.

Starting today, fans will get to stream the new episodes and follow the professional and personal life of Los Angeles defence attorney Mickey Haller, played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. In the highly anticipated third season, Mickey faces one of his toughest challenges yet. The storyline takes a dark turn as Haller is rocked by the murder of his former client, Gloria Days, portrayed by Fiona Rene. To complicate matters, he agrees to defend the man accused of killing her.

The season is adapted from 'The Gods of Guilt', the fifth book in Michael Connelly’s 'The Lincoln Lawyer' series, promises fans a gripping legal drama filled with twists and turns.



Releasing over a year after season 2 aired in August 2023, this new season had fans excited to catch in on all the courtroom drama. Taking to social media, a fan commented, " Season 3 of Lincoln Lawyer has dropped on #Netflix. That's the next 10 hours of my life sorted."

Another said, "The Lincoln Lawyer back! Weekend watch is set."

Others simply tweeted, "The Lincoln lawyer" and added fireball emoticons.



In the series, Manuel plays the role of Mickey, “an iconoclastic idealist who runs his law practice out of the back seat of his Lincoln, as he takes on cases big and small across the expansive city of Los Angeles,” the synopsis reads.

As reported by Forbes, Season 3, according to lead star Garcia-Rulfo is “very exciting,” and explained, “we see Mickey struggling with so many things at the same time — with romance, with the wives, with the cases. You never expect what’s going to happen, who’s going to be bad and who’s going to be guilty.”


With Season 3 out, fans are already wondering if there will be a fourth season. While Netflix has yet to confirm a renewal, co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez have expressed their intention to continue the series. In an interview with TV Insider, Rodriguez hinted, "We always set up sort of the next case of the season. This one won’t quite set up the next case, but it will definitely set up the next book."

Humphrey added, "I think we can say this season will definitely propel us in a very exciting and personal way into a season 4."



If the series gets the green light for another season, fans can expect to see Manuel return as Mickey, alongside familiar faces such as Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson.

Neve Campbell, who was initially speculated not to be returning for Season 3, made a comeback in a recurring role, which suggests she could be part of any future instalments.

All episodes of 'The Lincoln Lawyer', including the first two seasons and the upcoming third season, are available for streaming on Netflix.
