‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Volume 1: Demogorgons return in explosive trailer, Duffer Brothers tease BRUTAL deaths - WATCH
With just days to go before its release, the highly anticipated fifth season of 'Stranger Things', the makers on Sunday dropped the trailer for Volume 1 and going by the clip, the stakes have never been higher.
The trailer was shared with the caption, "We have a plan...it’s a bit insane."
The clip sees the boys banding together to take on Demogorgons overrunning the town, but amid all the chaos.
Ross Duffer added that the team always intended to grow the series alongside the cast and audience growing up.
The logline reads, "The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished - his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming - and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone - the full party - standing together, one last time."
With the return to Hawkins and the looming war in the Upside Down, some fans noted the absence of the character Max, played by Saide Sink. Max’s fate has been uncertain since the season four finale, where she was left in critical condition following Vecna’s attack. The previous trailer showed her being carried away into an elevator; however, her omission from the new trailer has now sparked fresh theories about whether she will be the one to die a brutal death in the series.

Duffer brothers warn fans
Season five, the final chapter of the two-part saga. Showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer have described the new season as the most expansive yet. Matt Duffer revealed to The Times that Season 5 may not match Season 4 in sheer brutality but will include “the most violent death of any season.” The brothers admitted they typically “try to restrain ourselves” with gore, but some sequences in the final instalment demanded intensity.Ross Duffer added that the team always intended to grow the series alongside the cast and audience growing up.
