‘Schitt's Creek’, ‘Permanent Roommates’, ‘Cheesecake’: Feel-good shows that are sure to light up your gloomy day

The second wave of COVID-19 has shaken the country and the lockdown-type restrictions have forced us to stay indoors once again. While we wait for these trying times to pass, we give you a rundown of some feel-good shows you can watch on various streaming platforms.

From the recent ‘Schitt's Creek’ to the popular ‘Permanent Roommates’ to the classic ‘Sarabhai VS Sarabhai’, here are shows you can watch over and over again with your family and have a good time in the comfort of your home.

2/6

‘Schitt's Creek’

‘Schitt’s Creek’ won more awards at the 202 Emmys than we could keep track of. It was touted as the funniest show of the decade and rightly so.

The story is about a wealthy family who goes bankrupt and is forced to live in a small town and start over again. While it will keep you engaged with its storyline, it is also sure to make you laugh. This show is sure to bring back all the good memories you have with your family.

3/6

‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’

Apart from solving crimes, this team of cops in ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ has interesting life stories which bond them like a family. It is about a proficient but eccentric group of detectives.

The series revolves around Jake Peralta, played by Andy Samberg. He is a talented but immature NYPD detective who often comes into conflict with his commanding officer Captain Raymond Holt, played by Andre Braugher.

4/6

‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’

After entertaining people on the small screen in the early 2000s, the popular sitcom ‘Sarabhai VS Sarabhai’ is back on the streaming platform. The new season 2 of the series is the cherry on the cake.

The series is about an upper-middle-class dysfunctional family whose life is chaotic and humorous but highly relatable at the same time. From Maya Sarabhai’s vocabulary to Rosesh’s poetry to Monisha’s middle-class habits to Indravardhan’s antics, this show is a laugh riot!

5/6

‘Permanent Roommates

This one’s definitely for the young couples who are separated due to the lockdown and are keeping up with their long-distance relationships. While the engaging storyline will keep you guessing till the end, the moments of laughter will drive away your lockdown blues.

‘Permanent Roommates’ follows the story of commitment-wary Tanya, and Mikesh, her overeager long-distance boyfriend who returns to India from the United States of America to surprise Tanya and to ask her to marry him and what follows is chaos and laughter.

6/6

‘Cheesecake’

For all those who have their furry friends at home to drive away their woes, this one is for you. This light, romantic comedy-drama is sure to bring a smile to your face.

The story is about the lead couple, played by Jitendra Kumar and Akanksha Thakur. It is about how a dog enters their life and their troubled marriage takes a U-turn. The series teaches one to value life and the meaning of unconditional love.
