Fans of Resident Alien in the US will soon be able to watch Season 3 on Netflix. The popular sci-fi comedy series, which originally aired on Syfy, has gained a strong following since it became available on the streaming platform. Netflix has now confirmed that all eight episodes of the third season will be released on February 13, 2025.
Resident Alien first arrived on Netflix US on February 13, 2024, with Seasons 1 and 2. In other regions, such as parts of Europe and India, only the first season was added in March 2024. The show, starring Alan Tudyk as an alien who crash-lands on Earth and tries to blend in with humans, has been well received by viewers.
Season 3 of Resident Alien originally aired on Syfy from February to April 2024. Unlike the second season, which had 16 episodes, this new season has only eight. The show continues to follow the adventures of Harry, an alien disguised as a small-town doctor, as he navigates human life while trying to keep his true identity a secret.
According to streaming data, Resident Alien performed well after being added to Netflix. It quickly entered the US TV top 10 and even reached the second spot at its peak. The show also appeared in Netflix’s global top 10 for five weeks between February and March 2024. During this time, it recorded 67.80 million viewing hours, which translates to about 8.9 million total views.
Previously, many Syfy series, such as Happy! and The Magicians, arrived on Netflix as part of a larger licensing deal. However, Resident Alien was acquired separately, which influenced its release schedule. Netflix currently holds streaming rights for the show until at least February 2027. Depending on future agreements, the platform may extend this deal if additional seasons are produced.
There was speculation that Resident Alien Season 3 would arrive on Netflix US in early 2025, and now the date has been officially confirmed. All eight episodes will be available for streaming on February 13, 2025.
