Priyanka Chopra's 'Citadel' to END after Season 2? Actress shares update on spy series
Priyanka Chopra has been juggling her time between the sets of her various film and television projects. The actress, who is set to release her new film 'The Bluff', is currently busy at work on her Indian film 'Varanasi'. However, long before she began work on the projects, the actress was spotted on the London sets of her spy series 'Citadel'.
The big-budget series backed by Amazon, is moving ahead with its release, but there is no update on the future of the franchise. Priyanka, in her latest interview with Variety, admitted, “We have Season 2, for sure, but the rest? I have no idea.”
She went on to add, "I don’t ask. I go to work, do my job and I leave."
'Citadel' season 1 cost USD 300 million
According to the report, the global espionage series, which also stars Richard Madden and is executive produced by the Russo brothers’ AGBO, reportedly cost USD 300 million for its first season alone. With a total of six episodes, the makers reportedly shelled out USD 50 million on each episode, making it one of the most expensive television series of all time.

The only show possibly more expensive is 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power', which cost USD 58 million per episode. Other shows like 'Stranger Things' and 'Andor' also cost around USD 30 million per episode.
Released amid much hype and anticipation, the first season was met with harsh criticism and an average reception from audiences. However, the show was renewed for Season 2. Since then, a question has arisen about the show's future.
About 'Citadel'
The 'Citadel' franchise spanned across international territories, with Italy’s 'Citadel: Diana' and India’s 'Citadel: Honey Bunny', both of which stand cancelled after their first season.
Chopra also revealed how she landed the role in the Russo Brothers' series. She said, “I really admire the Russos. They’ve been a big part of my career and my journey here. Joe just dropped the script on text one day to me. Literally on text. He was like, ‘Check this out.’ That’s classic Joe style. And here we are four years later.”
Meanwhile, Priyanka's 'The Bluff' releases online on February 25.
She went on to add, "I don’t ask. I go to work, do my job and I leave."
