Nicola Coughlan to feature in 'Doctor Who' Christmas special
'Bridgerton' star Nicola Coughlan has been confirmed to appear in a future 'Doctor Who' Christmas special, according to showrunner Russell T Davies. The announcement was made during a press conference, with Coughlan set to join the cast in Christmas 2024. The popular actress is best known for her role as Penelope Featherington in 'Bridgerton,' while 'Doctor Who' airs worldwide. Other returning actors for the 60th anniversary specials include David Tennant and Catherine Tate, with Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson making their debut.
"(We've got) Nicola Coughlan at Christmas. Not this Christmas, next Christmas. We're shooting Christmas 2024 now," he said.

Actors David Tennant and Catherine Tate will be returning this year for the 60th anniversary specials, while Ncuti Gatwa and Coronation Street's Millie Gibson will be making their debut as the 15th Doctor and new companion Ruby Sunday.
Coughlan is best known for playing Penelope Featherington on the hit period drama.
