Speaking on a recent episode of the Daily Mail's podcast, Goldsmith expressed his displeasure with ‘The Crown,’ revealing that he stopped watching the show due to its portrayal becoming "ridiculous and fantastical." He took issue with the depiction of Carole Middleton as a manipulative force attempting to infiltrate the royal family.

The specific episode in question, titled ‘Alma Mater,’ depicts Carole Middleton as a manipulative figure orchestrating the relationship between Kate and Prince William. Scenes portray Carole advising Kate on catching William's attention and show Kate expressing frustration at her mother's attempts to push her into a relationship with the future Prince of Wales.

Goldsmith staunchly defended Carole, rejecting the portrayal of her as an evil manipulative person scheming her way into the royal family. He expressed confusion about why Carole has not considered legal action, emphasizing the severity of the misrepresentation.

Reflecting on Kate Middleton's time at St Andrew's University, Goldsmith praised her accomplishments but criticized ‘The Crown’ for focusing on superficial aspects. He argued that the dramatization did not accurately capture the values and principles of Kate and her family.
