'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' returns: Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers mock Donald Trump, ahead of the comeback
As Jimmy Kimmel steps a foot back on the filming set of his talk show after the ‘indefinite suspension,’ Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers did not hesitate to mock the circumstances and call out US President Donald Trump for his moves. The Late Show hosts welcomed the 57-year-old back on television with a big, beautiful satire.
The host pointed out, “You, on the other hand, talk all the time. You never stop talking. You didn’t stop talking when he was president. You’ve talked more than all the other Presidents combined ever.” Elsewhere in his reporting, Meyers said that Trump is publicly calling his attorney general to remove his political enemies from the TV, losing their broadcasting license. Mocking his network, he reassured himself that this won’t certainly happen to him.
Jimmy Kimmel had criticised 'MAGA-land' for blaming the left wing for the unprecedented demise of right-wing activist and conservative, Charlie Kirk. As a result, his show was barred for not adhering to community values. Meanwhile, Stephen Colbert's Emmy-winning talk show is still in line to end next year due to 'less ratings.'

Stephen Colbert announced that Kimmel’s show would be back on track, calling himself the only martyr. Describing it as the end of a long national late-nightmare, he said, “This is wonderful news for my dear friend Jimmy and his staff. I am so happy for them.” Furthermore, Colbert added, “Plus, now that Jimmy’s not being cancelled, I get to enjoy this again,” showing the Emmy he won recently for Outstanding Direction for a Variety Series. Jesting upon his cancellation of the show, he continued, “Once more, I am the only martyr in late-night. Wait, unless, CBS, you want to announce anything?”Seth Meyers comments on Jimmy Kimmel's comeback
Furthermore, Seth Meyers continued the celebration on his show and highlighted that the cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel’s show received massive backlash, even from conservatives. “Minutes before we started taping, we got word that our friend Jimmy Kimmel will be back on the air,” he said on his Late Night show, making the audience burst into a loud cheer. Critising the president’s move, Meyers said, “We make jokes about politicians and people in the news, including Joe Biden. It was just harder with Joe Biden, because he didn’t say much.”The host pointed out, “You, on the other hand, talk all the time. You never stop talking. You didn’t stop talking when he was president. You’ve talked more than all the other Presidents combined ever.” Elsewhere in his reporting, Meyers said that Trump is publicly calling his attorney general to remove his political enemies from the TV, losing their broadcasting license.
