'Eddington’ now streaming on OTT: When and where to watch Pedro Pascal and Joaquin Phoenix’s political satire
After a strong theatrical run, 'Eddington' is now available on OTT, opening the film up to a much wider audience. The movie stars Pedro Pascal and Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix and marks a shift in tone from director Ari Aster’s earlier supernatural horror work. This time, the film leans into a neo-Western thriller with sharp political satire.

When and where to watch 'Eddington' on OTT

Viewers can now stream Eddington exclusively on JioHotstar. The digital release gives audiences a chance to catch the film from home, especially those who missed it in theatres. The film created considerable buzz following its festival journey and successful big-screen run, and its OTT release is now helping it reach a broader audience drawn to intense, dark-edged dramas.

A pandemic-era feud turns into chaos

Eddington is set in a fictional town in New Mexico in May 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the centre of the story is a clash between Joaquin Phoenix’s Sheriff Joe Cross and Pedro Pascal’s mayor, Ted Garcia. What begins as a disagreement over mask mandates and local safety protocols soon escalates into something far more dangerous. As the mayoral race heats up, the town turns into a pressure cooker. Violence rises and tensions spill over into the community.
With the election approaching, political extremism, personal resentment, and conspiracy theories push the town toward collapse. The film continues to raise the stakes until outside forces intervene, shifting the narrative into a brutal, action-heavy showdown.

Star cast and Ari Aster’s gritty vision

Written and directed by Ari Aster, the film brings together A24 and acclaimed cinematographer Darius Khondji. Alongside Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal, the ensemble cast includes Emma Stone, Austin Butler, Michael Ward, Deirdre O’Connell, and Luke Grimes in key supporting roles. Eddington premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2025 and received a Palme d’Or nomination, further cementing its critical reputation.
