'House of the Dragon' came to a conclusion with an epic finale that also featured the show's first-ever dragon fight.
"This was the first dragon fight in the
Game of Thrones series, so we had to make it one for the record books," said producer Ryan J Condal.
Explaining how the team when all out to make sure the final 10-minutes of the show was the best yet, he added, "You care about the two riders on the backs of the dragons so it is a drama, but also a visual spectacle so it involves all our best tools and best VFX coming together to make a fantastic sequence."
But before getting the VFX team and getting their actors in the air, the team used a rather simple technique to plan the shots.
Did you know that director
Greg Yaitanes shot the entire dragon chase and fight sequence on his iPhone?
"I got these dragon toys and used my iPhone to construct and block out what would happens," Greg said while revealing that his team worked on the best possible shots and recreated the same on camera.
The season finale of the Disney+ Hotstar series left fans wanting more, but according to HBO chief Casey Bloys, the second season will likely arrive "sometime in 2024". In an interview with Vulture, he said, "We're just starting to put the plan together [for Season 2], and just like last time, there are so many unknowns."
