Dakota Mortensen won’t be a part of the upcoming season of ‘Vanderpump Villa.’ The decision comes amid the ongoing domestic violence investigation of Mortensen and his ex-girlfriend, Taylor Frankie Paul. According to reports, the storyline featuring Mortensen has been edited out of the upcoming season.
Dakota Mortensen is involved in a domestic assault investigation
According to Variety, the decision comes after Dakota, 33, faced several headlines for his up-and-down relationship with ex-girlfriend Taylor Frankie Paul. At the time, a spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department in Utah confirmed to the US Weekly that there is an open “domestic assault investigation” involving the pair.
Shortly after the news broke, TMZ published a 2023 video showing Paul throwing chairs at Mortensen in the presence of her daughter, one of two additional children she shares with her ex-husband, Tate Paul.
‘Vanderpump Villa’ producers say: Our show’s ready to go
As per a report in People, Lisa Vanderpump, executive producer of ‘Vanderpump Villa,’ said that Mortensen “didn't really have a big storyline” on the show and removing him from the final cut “hasn't affected the story.” Noting that they don’t want to shine a spotlight on something so controversial, “when we have so much great content,” she added, “Our show’s ready to go.”
Just how the show will cut around Mortensen remains to be seen.
What is ‘Vanderpump Villa’ about?
Vanderpump Villa follows the staff and guests of Lisa Vanderpump in a series of historic locales in Europe. Mortensen and several others of the “DadTok” contingent from ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ are set to appear as guests in the coming season, which is scheduled to premiere April 16.
Nevertheless, Dakota will have the chance to appear on reality TV when he stars on ‘Unwell Winter Games.’ As for Taylor, her future with ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ remains uncertain, as the production company chose to cancel her season of ‘The Bachelorette’ amid allegations of her involvement in a domestic violence dispute.
