While the officer goes down for a break, the drama is set to continue. However, as the break was unexpected, the scriptwriters are penning down the sequences without incorporating his character, according to Deadline. Moreover, Flueger will be returning soon to the sets of the police department. The ‘Chicago’ franchise is well-versed in accommodating the actors when they feel the need to take a break from their roles. Previously, the ‘Chicago Fire’ star Taylor Kinney had returned to the role after a 10-month interval.

About the character

As for Flueger’s character, he married Detective Kim Burgess (played by Marina Squerciati) in the Season 12 finale after a long on-and-off relationship. They live with their daughter, Makayla, whom they adopted in Season 8. Moreover, Adam Rezuk’s father has been diagnosed with the unfortunate Alzheimer’s disease, living in a nursing home.
In the current 13th season, the ‘Detective’ couple is trying to handle the crime in the city, as they figure out their family.
