Bridgerton Season 2 first look: Check out Kate Sharma-Anthony Bridgerton's steamy dance, meet the Sharmas and Newton the Corgi

The Social Season is almost upon us. Just two months ahead of the release of the second season of the hugely successful regency drama 'Bridgerton' the makers dropped a handful of first-look stills. From grand ballroom dances to hunting parties, fencing matches and more, here's all that you can expect from the upcoming series.

Season Two will pick up where we last left off, with a heartbroken Anthony standing at Siena Rosso's door. Although the two had nothing short of a steamy affair, as the Viscount Bridgerton, he's unable to carry on his relationship because of their different social standings. He thus has to marry the 'ideal wife'. The series is set in the competitive world of Regency-era London high society's Ton during the season when debutantes are presented at court and go on to find a suitable match.

This time around Lady Whistledown will have her pen ready to note down all about Lord Anthony Bridgerton's (Jonathan Bailey) search for a suitable wife. Driven by his duty to uphold the family name, Anthony's search for a debutante who meets his impossible standards seems ill-fated until Kate (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) Sharma arrive from India.

When Anthony begins to court Edwina, Kate discovers the true nature of his intentions -- a true love match is not high on his priority list -- and decides to do everything in her power to stop the union. But in doing so, Kate and Anthony's verbal sparring matches only bring them closer together, complicating matters on both sides.

Fans who read the novels will finally have a face to their adored and loyal Newton. The Corgi featured in a stunning shot, seated comfortably on Kate's lap as sister Edwina sat by her side.

The first season of 'Bridgerton' revolves around the romance and marriage between the eldest Bridgerton daughter, Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), and Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings (Rege Jean-Page). However, owing to some other engagements, season two will continue without the Duke. The makers shared a glimpse of Daphne returning to the Bridgerton household. It remains to be seen how the team writes off Rege's character, considering that he has officially bowed out of the show.

Across Grosvenor Square, the Featheringtons must welcome the newest heir to their estate while Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) continues to navigate the Ton whilst keeping her deepest secret from the people closest to her.

The main additions to the upcoming season also include Shelley Conn (Mary Sharma), Calam Lynch (Theo Sharpe) and Rupert Young (Jack).

The much-awaited second season of the runaway series 'Bridgerton' will premiere on March 25, the streamer has announced. Based on Julia Quinn's novel 'The Viscount who loved me', the show is produced by media magnate Shonda Rhimes' Shondaland banner.
