Social media battle after Arnab's arrest, Twitterati cite #Karma

NEW DELHI: The arrest of

’s editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami on Wednesday by Mumbai Police in a case of abetment to suicide has set the social media abuzz.

Within hours of the arrest hashtags like #Karma and #WellDoneMumbaiPolice started trending on Twitter. Many users criticised Arnab for "vilifying" actress Rhea Chakraborty after Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide in June this year.



There were trends that supported Arnab such as #IAmArnab #isupportArnab #ArnabWeAreWithYou.

These two tweets contrasted the pictures of Rhea and Arnab in police custody
