Ahead of Holi, Delhi Police carried out a two-day crackdown under “Operation Aaghat 4.0” on March 1 and 2, detaining nearly 4,000 people across the city. The drive targeted bootleggers, drug peddlers and habitual offenders to prevent crimes during the festival. Over 975 individuals were taken into preventive custody and charged. Police also arrested more than 220 people under the NDPS Act, while cases were registered under the Arms Act, Delhi Excise Act, BNS Act and Gambling Act. Additionally, over 550 people were penalised for public drinking and more than 475 vehicles were seized, highlighting intensified security measures before Holi.
