Singer Sona Mohapatra is an avid social media user who never shies away from putting her strong opinions on the topic of sexual misconduct on social media. The singer earlier made headlines when she came forward during the 'MeToo campaign' and accused notable singer-music composer Anu Malik of predatory behaviour. Recently, the singer took to her Twitter handle and raised a question about veteran actress Rekha's presence on the music reality show 'Indian Idol 12', where Anu Malik used to be a judge in previous seasons. She tweeted, 'Happy to see #Rekha, a fine artist & sparkling woman giving a boost to a sad music reality show on social media. Why sad? What would U call a show that kept a known serial sexual predator & pervert on its payroll year after year? Anu Malik. Doesn’t even deserve a hashtag, #India'. Well, recently Rekha appeared as a guest judge in the show and made it extra special with her witty comments and beauty. Coming back to Sona, for those uninitiated, the singer in the year 2018 during the controversial #MeToo movement in the country, had called out the music composer and then judge of 'Indian Idol' Anu Malik for inappropriate behaviour after which several other women also came out with their MeToo incidents and accused him of harassment. However, last year the National Commission for Women closed the cases against him due to lack of substantial evidence, which did not go well with the singer as she shared a long post on social media and criticised the NCW's decision. As for Anu Malik, he recently featured in a show as a guest judge along with singer Udit Narayan and lyricist Sameer for the first time after stepping down as the main judge last year due to all such accusations.
