Popular TV actor Sidharth Shukla's death has hit fans harder than they had imagined. Even now, almost a week after his tragic passing, the dozens of fan-managed fan pages dedicated to the late actor on platforms like Instagram and Twitter can't help themselves from obsessing over his death and grieve his sudden end. Amid all this, the deceased actor’s followers on Instagram has shot up by almost a million within a few days after the news of his death broke out. Our guess is that, netizens, even those who weren't too familiar with his work, are perhaps curious to know about his life, which has prompted this sudden spike in followers. Sidharth's Instagram account has altogether 463 posts. He was an avid social media user, who loved sharing certain aspects of his life with his followers. He would sometimes even go live to chat with his followers. While his Instagram fan following has shot up from 3.5 million since his death to 4.4 million followers and counting, he followed only 6 accounts, that of Ekta Kapoor, designer Manish Malhotra, a stylist by the name Ken Ferns, and rumoured girlfriend Shehnaaz Gill. His fans and followers are leaving comments on his old Instagram posts, remembering him. Many are even posting heartfelt messages. His last Instagram post was dated August 24 where he had praised frontline workers for their sacrifices amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Sharing a picture of his holding a placard that read, '#TheHeroesWeOwe', he had penned, 'To all the frontline warriors, a thank you from the heart! You risk your lives, work for countless hours, and comfort patients who couldn’t be with their families. You truly are the bravest!' One grieving fan, commenting on the post after his demise, wrote, 'This loss is so shaking and unbelievable'. Another wrote, 'Still can’t believe. Rest in peace!' Sidharth Shukla passed away on 2 September after suffering a cardiac arrest. His last rites took place the next day at Mumbai's Oshiwara crematorium in the presence of close friends and family.
