‘Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan’ actress Sayantani Ghosh gets married to long time beau Anugrah Tiwari, says My dream has always been to wear the Shaankha Pola'

Wedding bells have rung for many celebrities. Amid Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif's wedding buzz, another celebrity tied the knot in a private ceremony. Television actress Sayantani Ghosh recently got married to her fiance Anugrah Tiwari at an intimate ceremony in her home town Kolkata. Sharing a couple of pictures from the wedding, Shayantani wrote on social media, 'And just like that I went from being a Miss to a Mrs'. Earlier, she also dropped beautiful pictures from her engagement ceremony and wrote, 'The best thing in life is to hold on to each other and here we are about to begin a new chapter in our lives. As we start our new journey, we have had an eternal blessing by my dida. The saree and my bangles that i’m wearing were given to me by her and it feels like she was a part of our celebration last night!Thank you @parama_g for helping me with styling the blouse so last min.' Taking to her Instagram story, Shayantani also expressed her happiness to wear shakhaa pola, that every Bengali women wears after getting married. Sharing a beautiful picture of her shakhaa pola, she wrote, 'My dream has always been to wear the shaankha pola..finally that moment'. She also has a quick chat with ETimes where she said, 'The moment I wore my shankha and pola I felt something changing inside. I have worn shankha-pola before, for different characters I played on screen. But this time, it was for real! I think a Bengali bride always looks pretty in a laal Benarasi, shankha-pola, chandan on the forehead and sindoor." She also expressed her excitement to get marry her best friend as she said, 'Both Anu (Anugrah, her long-time boyfriend) and I were super excited. It was such a happy feeling. The sari I wore for our ring ceremony belonged to my dida (grandmother). It was a gift from her. Dida passed away in 2020, so I decided to wear it on my special day as she was very close to me. I wanted to make her presence felt and I am sure she blessed us from wherever she is now. The bala (bangle) I wore, too, was a gift from her. The rest of the jewellery were gifts from my parents. Anu was emotional after the ring ceremony. He was missing his father, who passed away a couple of years back. My mother had tears in her eyes — tears of happiness of course." The couple will also host a reception in Anugrah's hometown, Jaipur.
